When are you opening?

We are expecting to open in mid-August 2019 as we fitout our facility. There has been unexpected delays with obtaining building materials but we will be in touch. We have updated our contact details on this website, please feel free to call us to find out our latest updates. Enrolment forms are available online and at Karaka Family Health premises. 

Who are your doctors?

We have a dynamic and multicultural team of doctors and nurses, working as a team. When you are enrolled at Takanini Surgery, you will be seen by any of our team members. Our team is led by Dr Sarah Glassey with Dr Anitha Nair, Dr Luke Wee and NP Dhyanne Hohepa

How can we enrol?

As our facilities are not ready yet, we are allowing enrolment to be done at the premises of Karaka Family Health. Your enrolment will be kept until our new clinic is open before the notes are transferred over. 

​what are your charges?

Our charges are available when you enrol with us physically. Our fees reflect the level of ease of getting appointments, continuity of care with similar doctor, service responsiveness and premise comfort level. ​Please feel free to come in to have a chat with our friendly team and we can discuss this in further detail.

ARE YOU APPOINTMENT BASED?

Unlike many GP practices in the surrounding area, we offer standard 10-15 minute exclusive a APPOINTMENT-ONLY service because we value your time and we would like to give dedicated time to you. This means that sometimes you  may not be able to be seen at your preferred time due to other bookings. However, we also try our to accommodate people who are urgently unwell in exceptional circumstances. Please contact our Receptionist to discuss this.

ARE THERE ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?

Takanini Surgery is part of Procare Primary Health Organisation and Counties Manukau DHB.
Due to the lack of government funding in Primary Care and government restrictions for new Very-Low-Cost-Access (VLCA) practices, our Practice is not able to offer VLCA fees. If you have further questions, please contact Procare PHO, Counties Manukau DHB, or speak to your local MP to discuss this further.
    
In certain  circumstances, our Doctors can help apply for assistance to discount some medical treatments, special authority medications, investigations as well as subsidised Psychology clinics through Procare Freshminds.

For those with significant and/or chronic health conditions, we are also able to help you apply assistance from from WINZ and ACC if you qualify. We are more than happy to explain and help you navigate through the various agencies.
